Welcome

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!  I hope somewhere in these posts you find something interesting and even inspirational, as I love to help others by sharing my stories.

First things first.  Why do I call my blog "The Butterfly Craze"?

Well, I LOVE butterflies.  So much in fact that when I turned 18, I got a tattoo of a butterfly. {I know, a rebel, huh?  Would you believe me if I told you my MOM gave me a gift certificate to a tattoo parlor, and I didn't even ask for it?!??  True story.  Promise.}

I also love butterflies so much, that my logo for my photography business is (one guess)...
a butterfly!!

To me, butterflies represent the metamorphosis we all go through in life, from being a child to an adult.  Even as an adult, I have transformed from being a single lady with a career-focused life working for NASA to being a stay-at-home mom of three and military wife.  It's taken me several years to figure out my new role, and it's been quite a  journey, but so much more beautiful than I ever could have imagined when I was young.  Do you think caterpillars know just how beautiful they will be after they go through their metamorphosis?

The other half of my life, my spare time, which right now is hardly close to a quarter of my life, is consumed by my hobbies and love of creativity and design.  I have found that I have a passion for making my dreams and images in my head become reality, whether it be through a camera lens, transforming our house to a home, or baking some pretty neat cakes.  These hobbies turn into projects that fully consume my every thought, but thankfully are short-lived so that I can rest before the next project comes along.  My hubby and I have learned I survive best at being a stay-at-home mom when I can use my skills and do things that remind me of who I am outside of being a mom and wife.

I'll try to post some of my past projects on here, and certainly talk about any new ones coming along.

So many thanks again for taking some time to stop by!  I know there's not too much to read now, but I gotta start somewhere!

Have a great day!

Erica
